Freedom in Life & Business
Memorial Day weekend has come and gone and life in New York still consists of masks and quarantines but that doesn't mean that freedom isn't alive and well.
If you are a veteran or military family, I'd first like to thank you for your service and your sacrifices.
One thing that has become crystal clear during the last 3 months is that real heroes don't wear capes, but they do wear uniforms like fatigues, scrubs, lab coats and grocery aprons, just to name a few. The work being done by our essential workers is nothing short of a miracle just like the work done by our military each and every day.
We are afforded many freedoms that we often take for granted here in the USA. Even in times of quarantine, we are the freest nation in the world.
I can't help but wonder - what are you doing with your freedoms?
Are you building the life and perhaps business of your wildest dreams?
If you answered "no" to that question, let me be the first to tell you that you are doing life wrong.
Now it is your life to live, but I find most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be so happiness should always be your goal. It's easier that you think actually but most of us make it unnecessarily hard.
We often have inner programming set for us a long time ago that prioritizes taking care of others over taking care of ourselves. This often leaves us feeling unfulfilled, burnt out and frazzled. We forget out own needs and desires and put the needs and desires of others at the forefront, often because we are under the misbelief that self care is selfish when in fact, taking great care of ourselves allows us to take better care of others.
If you were to focus only on yourself and your deepest desires for just a moment, what comes into your mind? The career you've always imagined? Family? Traveling the world? Building your dream business?
What stops you from pursuing those desires?
You have the freedom.
You have access to information at your fingertips.
Support is out there and available if you seek it.
So what holds you back?
For most of us, it's ourselves. We hold us back. Maybe not intentionally, but we do. We talk ourselves out of our dreams using excuses like we don't have time or we don't have money and while those things may be momentarily true, they do not have to define us.
I'd like to offer you a challenge - I challenge you to do one thing that makes you feel free.
Freedom looks different for each of us and that one thing can be anything you choose, large or small, but one spark can light any flame and with hope and a commitment, all things are possible.
Even a life of freedom by your design.
The first step to freedom is YOU.
Share with me in the comments what your one thing is that you are committing to that will bring your happiness and freedom. I cannot wait to read about all your freedoms!
